About Rose City Benefits
Every year, people in Oregon miss out on food, rent, health, and bill help they qualify for — not because they don’t need it, but because no one ever told them it existed or where to go. Rose City Benefits exists to close that gap.
How it works
You answer a few plain questions about your household — how many people live with you, roughly how much money comes in, and a couple of yes/no things. We compare that to the rules of dozens of real programs and show you the ones you may qualify for, best matches first, each with a clear next step and a link to the official source.
What we promise
- We never decide your benefits. Only the program can do that. We show you what looks like a fit and where to confirm it.
- Plain language, real numbers. No jargon, no “% of the federal poverty level.” We tell you what you get and who it’s for in words anyone can read.
- Every program is cited. Tap “See the rule” on any card to read the exact official text and go to the source.
- Nothing you type is saved. No account, no sign-up. Your answers are never stored and disappear when you leave — we only count page visits, never what you type. See our privacy page.
- We show the gaps, too. We’d rather tell you what we haven’t mapped yet than pretend we have everything. See what’s missing.
Who runs this
Rose City Benefitsis an independent, individually-run public-interest project based in Portland, Oregon. It is not a nonprofit, and it is not a government site — we’re not affiliated with the State of Oregon, the City of Portland, Multnomah County, or any agency whose programs are listed here. No program, agency, or company can pay to be listed, ranked higher, or left out. There’s no advertising and nothing for sale on this site.
How we keep information current
Every rule on this site is checked against the program’s own official page, not summarized from memory or copied from another site. Read the full methodology for how we research and re-check every program.
Found something wrong?
Rules change, and we don’t always catch it right away. If something looks out of date or wrong, tell us— a sentence is plenty. We check it against the official source and fix it. See what’s already been corrected on the updates log, or read our full corrections policy.
