MFS CASH Oregon — Free Tax Prep & ITIN Help
Free tax filing and help getting an ITIN
What it pays or provides
MFS CASH Oregon doesn't pay you directly -- IRS-certified volunteers prepare and e-file your federal and Oregon tax returns for free, including credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit and education credits. They can also handle prior-year returns and amendments going back up to three years, cancelled debt, interest and dividend income, retirement account distributions, stock sales, sale of your primary home, and some small business or independent contractor returns. If you or your dependents need an ITIN, their volunteers can help you apply for or renew one.
Who qualifies
Your household qualifies for the free service if you make $69,000 or less a year.
How other benefits affect it
Filing your taxes through this free service is how you claim credits like the federal Earned Income Tax Credit and the Oregon Kids Credit -- you won't get either credit unless you file a return.
