Oregon Summer EBT (SUN Bucks)

$120 per child for summer groceries

Last verified: July 19, 2026

What it pays or provides

Each summer, your family gets one payment of $120 for each eligible child, loaded onto an EBT card to buy groceries. The benefit expires four months (122 calendar days) after it shows up on your card, so it's meant to be used that summer.

Who qualifies

Your household qualifies automatically if you've received SNAP, participated in TANF, or had a household member get Oregon Health Plan benefits, or if your child is in foster care. If your child attends a school that participates in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and your household meets the free or reduced-price school meals income guidelines, you may need to apply -- along with families of children who are experiencing homelessness, in a migrant program, or attending a participating Head Start program.

How other benefits affect it

Already getting SNAP, TANF, or OHP is what qualifies most families automatically -- you don't need to apply separately for Summer EBT if you're already on one of those. Your child's school participating in free school meals can also open the door to Summer EBT if you meet the income guidelines.
