Healthier Oregon (OHP regardless of immigration status)

Free health coverage, any immigration status

Last verified: July 5, 2026

What it pays or provides

Healthier Oregon gives you full Oregon Health Plan (OHP) benefits -- the same coverage as regular OHP -- once immigration status no longer stands in the way.

Who qualifies

As of July 1, 2023, immigration or citizenship status no longer affects whether you qualify for OHP. If you live in Oregon and meet OHP's income and other criteria, you can get full benefits no matter your immigration status or age. If you're a lawful permanent resident, you don't have to wait five years like some other programs require.

How other benefits affect it

Healthier Oregon uses the same application and the same OHP benefits package as regular OHP, so applying is the same ONE.Oregon.gov process, just without an immigration-status barrier.

How to apply

Apply online (ONE.Oregon.gov)In personBy phone

Apply online at ONE.Oregon.gov, through a local OHP-certified community partner (find one at healthcare.oregon.gov/GetHelp), at an ODHS office near you, or by calling 1-800-699-9075 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time.
