Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid)
Free or low-cost health coverage
What it pays or provides
OHP is Oregon's Medicaid program. It covers health care for people from all walks of life -- working families, children, pregnant adults, single adults, and seniors -- who qualify by income or through another program.
Who qualifies
You can qualify for OHP based on your household income, or automatically if you already get SSI or Oregon Supplemental Income Program Medical assistance. OHP covers a wide range of life situations, not just families with kids.
Income limits by household size
| People in your household | Monthly income limit (about) |
|---|---|
| 1 | $1,840 |
| 2 | $2,490 |
| 3 | $3,140 |
| 4 | $3,800 |
| 5 | $4,450 |
| 6 | $5,100 |
| 7 | $5,750 |
| 8 | $6,410 |
Limits shown are approximately 138% of the federal poverty guidelines, rounded — the program’s own table is the final word.
How other benefits affect it
Getting OHP can help your household qualify for WIC automatically if you're pregnant or have a child under 5. It's also the door into related coverage like Healthier Oregon (for people whose immigration status previously blocked coverage) and OHP dental.
