Nurse-Family Partnership / Healthy Families Oregon

Free home visits for new and expecting parents

Last verified: July 19, 2026

What it pays or provides

Healthy Families Oregon is a free, voluntary home visiting program. A trained home visitor comes to your house to help you build a nurturing relationship with your baby, understand child development, and connect to community resources. Families choose to participate in weekly visits for six months or longer, and services can continue for up to three years.

Who qualifies

Every local Healthy Families Oregon site screens families using the New Baby Questionnaire, done either during pregnancy or within 14 days after your baby is born, to figure out if home visiting fits your family. We could not verify a specific income limit from an official source, so ask your local site directly about your household's eligibility.

How other benefits affect it

Healthy Families Oregon doesn't require you to be on WIC or OHP first, but home visitors commonly help connect new and expecting parents to both -- ask your home visitor about signing up for WIC's nutrition support or OHP's health coverage if you're not already enrolled.

How to apply

By phone

Call your local Healthy Families Oregon program to get screened -- if you're not sure which local site serves you, call the Department of Early Learning and Care at 1-800-556-6616 for help finding your local program. Once you're screened and found eligible, you're assigned a home visitor.
